Chapter 2

I am studying English as a second language. In my major I had different professors, and all of them use different methods to teach. When I started my professor used to teach with AML method. I think was because we were new, and she wanted to motivate us. But most of my professors used to teach with ESL method. I think both methods are effective because with AML students feel motivated to learn and ESL learns in different ways. According to the article ALM students are taught incrementally, error is prevented, and fluency is expected to arise out of practice with structures.

What I found more difficult to write in a second language was writing a good sentences, including spelling, synonyms, and structure. Another think was very difficult was writing about technical topics because as a student we should have a lot of vocabulary. So we should know the topic, if vocabulary and the topic, we could not write about it.

I do not agree with the inexperienced from ESL teachers about writing. I think teachers from ESL have a lot experience. Nowadays, they need to take a course to get prepare and teach, and they have a lot of knowledge. They be prepare in writing, speaking, reading, and listening. We can see different web pages in internet about ESL, they practicing and exercise. Everybody can learn with ESL method.

Writing can be forgotten because people used not to write in a second language.
Based in my experience, in all countries and even thou in different parts of our country are cultural different in the organization and presentation ideas. We can see how students learn, how their behavior is depends on the school or in the country they study.
